ABOUT
Hi, my name is Dustin Brown and I am the founder of Brown's Home Inspections. I grew up on a small farm in rural Saskatchewan where at a very young age my father taught me the basics of carpentry and construction. From growing up on a farm, it was instilled in me to work hard, be honest and fair and to treat people how you would like to be treated.
I attended the University of Saskatchewan where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. While attending University I worked part time for a residential renovations company. It was here that I built on what my father had taught me and I learned how to renovate houses.
After completing University I move to Edmonton, Alberta where I started my own residential renovations and general contracting business. Each time I would look at purchasing a house, I would hire a home inspector to tell me if the house was in sound condition and a good investment. After renovating several houses it soon became clear to me that based on over 20 years of my construction background, I knew more than many of the home inspectors I had hired.
This made me realize that there was something more that I could offer. I obtained my licensing and certification in conducting home inspections and air quality testing for mold, asbestos, allergens and radon gas, to provide a creditable inspection service to my clients not only based on my certification but also based on my knowledge and experience as a residential renovator and general contractor.
My motto states "I care about your investment" and I stand behind this. When I conduct an inspection, I want to provide you with an educational experience to equip you with all of the knowledge and understanding that you need by explaining deficiencies, answering all of your questions and providing sound advise.
